Philosophy and the Media : Media Analysis
Part of my research in the Philosophy of Journalism and the Mass Media involves developing Case Studies of media bias and propaganda in the news. I also research and document Case Studies of objective, quality investigative journalism for my studies and work relating to the media. I offer consulting services to media organizations (print media, on-line media, radio, television) that seek to explore manifestations of bias and propaganda, versus objectivity, in the news. More information on the Philosophy, Leadership & Values summer programs will be available in January, 2009. For more information, please email: rrabinsky@miami.edu

Ethics Workshops
A variety of workshops in Ethics and Applied Ethics will be available in the summer of 2009. These workshops will be offered in 3-day and 5-day sessions, and are designed to introduce the basic concepts, theories, and principles of Ethics -- and their applications to the resolution of real-world ethical dilemmas, moral issues, and specific Case Studies in ethics. The courses are offered at two levels: (1) an introductory course, designed for beginners, and (2) an advanced course, for students with prior exposure to philosophy, and/or professionals who seek a deeper understanding of ethical theory and its application to professional codes of ethics in the workplace. Whether you have never studied philosophy before, or whether you are thinking of majoring in philosophy, these workshops will engage your mind and challenge you to think critically about a variety of ethical issues in the workplace and daily living.
